Join the Homeless Response Team!
The Oklahoma Homeless Response Team (OHRT) is a voluntary, independent effort by individuals to help the homeless.
There are a lot of great ways that you can help the homeless in your community and across the state!
Financial Contributions
Non-profit organizations and churches that help the homeless rely on your financial support. You help make it possible for them to purchase food and other necessities they need to help the homeless and low income families.
Donate Food & Items
If you have spare food, clothes, blankets, toothbrushes, shoes, Bibles, sleeping bags, or other items you don't need, consider donating them to the homeless. A lot of non-profit organizations have need for specific items.
Volunteer & Be a Mentor
Do you have some free time? Consider volunteering at your local soup kitchen, food bank, shelter, or other resource locations used by homeless people. You can help distribute items or even be a mentor.
Pray For & With People
Prayer is a powerful way to help the homeless. You can pray for their needs, pray for their families, and pray for their lives to change. Pray for them and with them, as your words can help encourage and empower them.
