Choose the right type of food resource

  • Meal sites usually provide prepared food at specific times.
  • Food pantries typically provide groceries to take with you and may have eligibility or service-area rules.
  • Day centers, shelters, churches, and outreach programs may offer meals even when food is not their main service.

Check before going

  • Confirm the service day and time. Pantry and meal schedules can change.
  • Ask whether identification, proof of address, household information, or an appointment is required.
  • If transportation is difficult, ask whether mobile pantry, delivery, or nearby distribution options exist.
