OKHomeless is designed to collect as little personal information as practical for a public resource project.

Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the server and infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, security events, and similar request data. This information is used for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and aggregate traffic analysis.
OKHomeless uses Cloudflare for DNS, security, delivery, and privacy-oriented web performance/traffic analytics. Cloudflare may process request and browser-performance information as part of those services.
Resource Assistant
The Resource Assistant accepts the words you enter and an optional city, ZIP code, or county so it can search OKHomeless resources and guides. Usage limits may use an IP-based rate-limit key to reduce automated abuse. The current assistant is designed to search approved site data rather than inventing providers.
Do not enter Social Security numbers, financial account information, passwords, detailed medical records, or other information you would not want processed by the site.
Anonymous homelessness survey
The homelessness survey is intentionally designed without a required name, email address, or exact location. Survey responses are stored so aggregate patterns can be studied. Technical server/security logs may still exist separately from the survey response.
Stories, reviews, and reports
Stories submitted for publication are stored for moderation. A story may be submitted anonymously, under an alias, by first name, or by name. Do not include exact camp locations, private addresses, passwords, account information, or another person's private information without permission.
Resource reviews may include an optional reviewer name. Private resource reports may include an optional name and email address if the reporter wants follow-up. Reports are intended for moderation and are not displayed publicly.
External links
OKHomeless links to service providers, public agencies, community organizations, and other external sites. Their privacy practices are controlled by those organizations, not OKHomeless.
Data protection and retention
Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used to protect site data, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be retained as needed for moderation, directory maintenance, abuse prevention, legal obligations, backups, and operation of the project.
